Our new 100-foot flight enclosure is here, how amazing!!! Now we will be able to rehab eagles, ospreys, pelicans and many more large birds. We got the flight cage from the Raptor House in Yakima. It was taken down in Yakima, brought over the mountains to us on a semi trailer, then was re-assembled at Discovery Bay Wild Bird Rescue. We left greenery in the middle (as you can see in the photos below) for a more natural setting for the birds. This is a really big deal, because we have one of only three 100-foot flight enclosures in the state of Washington!
Special thanks to:
-TPF Services in Yakima, owner Tim and his crew, Dave, Sean and Shane. They did all the teardown and re-build of the flight enclosure and in remarkable time. They donated many man hours to the project!
-Jim Kennedy of Bottom Line Transportation in Denver, CO and Mercer Trucking did transport at cost.
-Stewart Excavation, Mark and Amy, donated all the work clearing and excavating the spot!
-We appreciate all the people who donated time and money to the flight enclosure, without all of you it wouldn’t have been possible.
